SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of video encoding. In method, first prediction value is calculated using linear interpolation between value of corresponding pixels of horizontal boundary and value of one of pixels of vertical boundary, and second prediction value is calculated using linear interpolation between value of corresponding pixels of vertical boundary and value of one of pixels of horizontal boundary. Above first and second prediction values are then averaged to obtain the corresponding pixel prediction value in the prediction block. And the difference between the prediction block and the target block is reported to the decoder.

EFFECT: technical result is provision of coding mode with planar prediction with low complexity, which can improve coding efficiency with intraframe prediction.
