NAVIGATION COMBINED OPTICAL SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01C23/00

Abstract RU 2694786 C1

FIELD: aviation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to onboard equipment of aircrafts and is intended for autonomous navigation of aircrafts due to information from optical sensors, strapdown inertial navigation system, database with cartographic information on location, and also enables to form a composite image which increases informational awareness of the crew about the quaternary space. Disclosed navigation combined optical system (NCOS) consists of optoelectronic system (OES), contour selection and improvement unit (SIU), a combination unit, a complexed image generator (CIG), a virtual terrain model (VTM), an expanded view angle generator (EVG), a correlation extremal handler (CEH), computer of navigation corrections (CNC), strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS).

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining navigation parameters of aircraft, shorter processing time owing to algorithms used, correcting navigation parameters in real time, formation of a synthesized image of terrain, which is integrated with images obtained from OES, and is displayed on aircraft indicators; all together allows to have reliable information on underlying surface in various weather conditions.
