FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to oncology, and aims at predicting recurrence-free and overall survival in HPV 16-positive cervical cancer patients. Physical status of human papillomavirus 16 of the genotype is evaluated by quantitative real-time PCR. Detection of E6 region in absence of E1/E2 region is interpreted as HPV integration into human DNA. Detection of the E6 region in the presence of the E1/E2 region is defined as a mixed form or partial integration of the virus in human DNA. Absence of the E6 region in the presence of the E1/E2 region is defined as an episomal form of the virus. If observing an integrated form of HPV 16, a high risk of aggressive disease is predicted. If observing episomal forms of the virus, 100 % overall and recurrent survival rate is predicted with a high degree of probability. In the patients with the mixed form of HPV 16 type, an intermediate risk of recurrence-free and overall survival is predicted.
