SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image forming and display device for a vehicle. Imaging and display device comprises display and control units. Display unit is configured to display a captured image which is obtained by capturing an image forming unit which represents a rear side of the vehicle. Control unit is configured to perform the angle of view switching control to switch the viewing angle of the captured image displayed in the display unit, at a wider angle than the current viewing angle when the predetermined wide angle condition is satisfied when the distance between the object on the rear side of the vehicle and the vehicle decreases, and switching the viewing angle to the initial viewing angle when the predetermined return condition for returning to the original viewing angle is satisfied.
