FIELD: refrigerating equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device for production of flake ice contains a drum which includes an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder surrounding the inner cylinder, and gap formed between inner cylinder and outer cylinder, unit for supply of coolant into gap, rotary shaft, which rotates with central axis of drum as axis. Spraying unit rotates together with rotary shaft and spray brine onto inner peripheral surface of inner cylinder. Removal unit removes flake ice formed as a result of sticking of the brine sprayed from the spraying unit onto the inner peripheral surface of the inner cylinder cooled by the coolant fed into the gap. Method of producing flake ice comprises feeding coolant through unit for feeding coolant into gap, rotation of drum together with spraying unit and spraying of brine on internal peripheral surface of inner cylinder, removal of flake ice from inner surface of cylinder by means of removal unit.

EFFECT: use of this group of inventions prolongs storage of products.
