METHOD OF TREATING PATIENTS WITH BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL DIZZINESS WITH INVOLVEMENT OF A POSTERIOR SEMICIRCULAR CANAL Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F11/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology and neurology, and can be used in treating patients with benign paroxysmal position dizziness with involvement of posterior semicircular canal. That is ensured by position maneuver performed at night. Before a patient's night sleep, the patient is placed on the abdomen with the head inclined downwards by 15–20 degrees, turning towards the healthy ear with the ear down. After 2–8 hours of patient's sleep, his head is turned towards the patient's ear, the patient with an ear upwards with inclination of the head downwards by 15–20 degrees. Patient's position is maintained for 2–2.5 hours. Then, pressing the patient's head to his chest, he is seated in bed through the side on which side the diseased ear is located. This position is kept for about 2–2.5 minutes. Maneuver is performed once a day with duration till absence of signs of the posterior semicircular canal.

EFFECT: method provides effective treatment of the given pathology with simultaneous reduction of the risk of recurrences and reduced length of treatment, as well as simplification of the method.
