FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to piston-type internal combustion engines. Engine has double-sided cylinder, which is limited by engine head on each side of cylinder. Outlet assembly is located on each side of the cylinder. Piston is located in inner space of cylinder and freely slides relative to cylinder along longitudinal axis. Two piston rods are aligned with longitudinal axis. Each piston rod is connected on the other side of the piston. Each of the piston rods has outlet holes.
EFFECT: invention ensures gas exchange in the engine due to constant flow of preliminary charge of fresh air to the cylinder, and through the cylinder, and through the piston rod irrespective of the piston position, and through the outlet system.
