METHOD FOR POSTMORTAL MORPHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF CEREBRAL EDEMA IN NEUROINFECTIOUS DISEASES IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/107 G01N1/28 G01N1/30

Abstract RU 2695292 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely infectology and pathological anatomy. For postmoretical morphological diagnosis of cerebral edema in neuroinfectious diseases in children, quantitative histological and histomorphometric examination of cerebral autopsy is carried out. Method includes quantitative counting of the area of a brain tissue cut which is filled with extracellular edematous fluid, except for the lumen of the crossed blood vessels, this area is expressed as a percentage relative to the area of the analyzed section and if the value of this indicator is 1–5 %, initial signs of cerebral edema are diagnosed, more than 5 % is diagnosed with severe cerebral edema and dislocation.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate diagnosis by calculating the relative quantitative index of cerebral edema.
