METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF RECURRENCES OF POSTOPERATIVE MENINGIOMAS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2689795 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery and oncology, and can be used for prediction of recurrences of meningiomas in postoperative period. That is ensured by producing a fragment of tumor tissue during a meningioma removal operation. After that, the fragment is frozen and micro-cuts are obtained, which are stained with a reagent with antibodies to Cyclin-D1 protein. Prepared preparation is then microscopically examined and immunohistochemical examination is carried out to determine expression of the Cyclin-D1 protein expressed in percentage. If Cyclin-D1 protein expression is less than 3 %, recurrence-free meningioma is predicted. When Cyclin D1 protein is more than 3 %, a high probability of recurrence of meningioma is predicted.

EFFECT: invention enables predicting the postoperative meningioma recurrence.
