FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: described is a composition for underground refining of heavy oil and intensification of oil recovery when pumping steam with an exposure temperature of 100–400 °C, which includes a nanosized catalyst with particle size of 60–155 nm based on mixed iron oxide Fe3O4, wherein composition additionally contains hydrogen-donor nefras C4 -155/205 solvent in ratio: catalyst Fe3O4: nefras C4 – 155/205 = 1–40 wt% : 99–60 wt%.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of refining and conversion of heavy oil due to combined use of nano-sized catalyst and hydrogen-donor solvent at steam-thermal action.
