SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to chewing gum compositions having an improved sweetener release profile. Chewing gum composition contains chewing gum base, a first pure sweetener having a first release profile, a second pure sweetener having a second release profile. First sweetener is steviol glycoside, and the second sweetener is a highly effective sweetener selected from sucralose and brazehin. First sweetener and the second sweetener do not exhibit cross adaptation in the composition. First release profile and a second release profile provide a controlled chewing gum composition release profile, selected from a group, consisting of consecutive release of first and second sweeteners and partial overlapping release of first and second sweeteners. Chewing gum contains at least 0.7 % by weight of the first sweetener.

EFFECT: chewing gum produced according to the invention maintains high level of sweetness during long period of consumption.
