FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a card, such as a credit card, an identification card, and so forth, which is configured to output or provide an electromagnetic field along a predetermined curve on or near its surface. This type of card can emulate an outdated credit card with a magnetic strip having one or more tracks of signals encoded in the magnetic strip, but unlike a static magnetic strip, a field generator is provided to output a modulated field which emulates what is read by the reading head moving along the track of the old credit card/identification card. Disclosed are a card assembly and a card reader having a reading head configured to be positioned over a predetermined curve of the card with simultaneous reading of the electromagnetic field, as well as outputting a signal related to the readable field, wherein the card comprises an elongated field generator shifted relative to standard cards, placed directly under the curve.
EFFECT: technical result is wider range of said cards.
