FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a flux feed unit and a method for refining molten material, where at least a portion of the material is aluminum when it flows through the chute. Hollow metering cylinder and metering rim are arranged to allow flux and/or inert gas movement through cylinder cavity and introduction into molten material through metering rim when molten material flows through the chute. Partition is located inside the melted material in the appropriate chute so that the melted material flows around the partition. Elongated metering cylinder is located downstream of the partition. Flow rate of melted material increases when it passes dosing rim of elongated metering cylinder intended for input and mixing of flux inside molten aluminum alloy.
EFFECT: disclosed is a device for refining molten aluminum alloys.
