FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to versions of a method of producing alkenols, as well as to a method of producing 1,3-butadiene. One of the versions of the method of producing alkenols involves dehydration of 1,3-butanediol in the presence of at least one cerium oxide-based catalyst which is obtained by deposition, in the presence of at least one base, at least one compound containing cerium, and at least one diluent selected from inert gases, such as nitrogen (N2) and argon (Ar), wherein the method is carried out in molar ratio between 1,3-butanediol and diluent of 0.3 to 2. Method of producing 1,3-butadiene involves bringing obtained 2-butene-1-ol and/or 3-butene-2-ol into contact with at least one catalyst in conditions suitable for dehydrating 2-buten-1-ol and/or 3-buten-2-ol.
EFFECT: disclosed versions of the method of producing alkenols enable to achieve improved conversion and selectivity characteristics with longer service life of the catalyst.
