FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compression piston ring. Ring has working surface, inner peripheral surface, as well as upper and lower side surfaces passing between them, wherein in area of lower side surface on side of working surface there is a small taper <30' axial height of 10–30 % relative to the entire height of the working surface, which changes into conicity passing in the direction of the upper side surface, which is 90–200', and wherein on the entire working surface a thin wear-resistant coating with thickness of 0.1 to <20 mcm, in particular 4–6 mcm is deposited.
EFFECT: higher reliability of compression piston ring.
