FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of adsorbing oxygen from a feed stream containing oxygen, particularly to adsorption at variable pressure, using adsorbent compositions containing RHO zeolites. Method involves passing a crude stream through an oxygen-selective adsorbent bed to produce a product stream depleted of oxygen. At that, the adsorbent contains zeolite RHO, having Si/Al ratio from 3.2 to 4.5 and containing non-protonic out-of-the-grid cations, size, number and charge of cations are such that 1.8 or less amount of non-protonic out-of-surface cations per elementary cell is required for occupation positions of 8-member ring, wherein zeolite unit cell axis length is from 14.23 Å to 14.55 Å.
EFFECT: invention provides an efficient method of separating oxygen from mixtures, such as mixtures which additionally contain N2 and/or Ar, with high rate of adsorption and desorption, as well as possibility of removing low levels of N2 from Ar.
