METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE ADSORBING LAYER WITH HIGH PACKING DENSITY, ADSORBER CONTAINING IT AND GAS SEPARATION BASED ON ADSORPTION USING ADSORBER Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC B01J20/30

Abstract RU 2799338 C1

FIELD: gas processing.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to separation or purification of gases based on the use of an adsorbent. A method for manufacturing an adsorbent layer, comprising the steps of: forming at least one elementary polymer/adsorbent composite structure by diffusion-induced phase inversion of a moulding composition that contains adsorbent particles, a solvent, and a polymeric binder dissolved in the solvent; formation of an intermediate layer of at least one elementary composite structure of polymer/adsorbent; compressing the intermediate layer so as to immobilize at least one elementary polymer/adsorbent composite structure relative to itself or each other and form a final layer, where at least one elementary polymer/adsorbent composite structure is wetted with a liquid swelling agent for the polymeric binder before, during and/or after said step of forming the intermediate layer, but before completion of said step of compressing the intermediate layer so that the polymeric binder becomes sticky. Said stage of compressing the intermediate layer includes the step of applying a compressive force to the intermediate layer to obtain the final layer. The final layer is at least partially dried while at least one elementary polymer/adsorbent composite structure is in such an adhered state before removing the compressive force that at least one elementary polymer/adsorbent composite structure is immobilized even when compressive force is removed. An adsorber containing a structure in form of an adsorbing layer and a method for separating gases based on adsorption are also claimed.

EFFECT: claimed group of inventions enables separation of gases based on adsorption using the claimed adsorber using an adsorbent.
