CONFIGURABLE ADSORBENTS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC B01J20/18 B01J20/28 B01J20/30 B01D53/02 B01D53/04

Abstract RU 2751716 C2

FIELD: adsorbent production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for modifying the crystalline inorganic framework of adsorbent using coatings, in particular to a method for reducing the pore inlet size of a crystalline inorganic adsorbent. The method involves bringing the adsorbent into contact with a silicone precursor to form a mixture and firing the mixture at a temperature and under conditions that allow for effective production of an adsorbent with the required pore inlet size. The silicone precursor is selected from a polymer dimethyl siloxane with terminal hydroxyl, methoxyl, or ethoxyl groups, methylsilsesquioxanes, octylsilsesquioxanes, methyloctylsilsesquioxanes, or from mixtures or combinations thereof. An additional property of the improved adsorbent is the formation of agglomerates, including the formation of granules with simultaneous modification of pores; in addition, the proposed processing method provides agglomerates with high crushing strength.

EFFECT: invention provides for a reduction in the effective pore size of crystalline solids with pores less than 5 to ensure selectivity in the rate of adsorption for one gas compared to others and to achieve a selective separation in the molecule size.
