FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry for purification of waste water from organochlorine compounds, for example 2,4-dichlorophenol, using plasma of dielectric barrier discharge. Proposed method comprises passing purified water through reservoir, supplying oxygen as plasma-forming gas and treatment in dielectric barrier discharge at voltage 6.5–7.2 kV. An adsorbent layer is placed inside the container, and a silicate sorbent – diatomite – is chosen as the adsorbent.
EFFECT: method provides higher efficiency of cleaning, possibility of achieving complete purification of water even at high concentrations of 2,4-dichlorophenol in water, low consumption of oxygen, shorter time of contact of water with the discharge zone, low power consumption.
