SUBSTANCE: multi-stage converter with at least one branch, which is connected between positive busbar and negative busbar, wherein branch has at least two series-connected arms, wherein arms include, respectively, serial connection of plurality of double-pole submodules, which have energy accumulator and communication connection with multistage converter control device, by means of which at least one information on energy accumulator charge state and switching indication for submodule switch can be transmitted, characterized in that, for at least part of submodules, connection of connection is made as general connection of connection and has multiple insulating sections, which have insulating capacity of not more than 5 kV.
EFFECT: economy of structural space and simplification of design.
