FIELD: watches and other time measuring instruments.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of making a hair for hourly balance made from niobium-titanium alloy, comprising a step of producing a niobium-titanium alloy workpiece containing niobium: a residue of up to 100 wt%; titanium from 40 to 60 wt%; traces of elements from the group including O, H, C, Fe, Ta, N, Ni, Si, Cu, Al, each of which is present in amount of 0 to 1,600 mln-1 by weight and total amount of which ranges from 0 to 0.3 wt%; stage β-punning of said workpiece of specified diameter, so that titanium of said alloy was mainly in form of solid solution with β-phase niobium, and content α-phase titanium was less than or equal to 5 % by volume; at least one stage of deformation of said alloy, alternating with at least one heat treatment step, so that obtained niobium-titanium alloy has elastic limit greater than or equal to 600 MPa, and modulus of elasticity less than or equal to 100 GPa, wherein the winding shaping step is performed before the final thermal treatment step; before deformation step, step of applying on workpiece from alloy of surface layer of plastic material, for example copper, to facilitate formation of wire, wherein thickness of applied layer of plastic material is selected such that ratio of area of plastic material to area of niobium-titanium alloy for given wire cross-section is less than 1.
EFFECT: disclosed is method of making hair for hour balance.
