FIELD: manufacturing a coil spring.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a coil spring intended to be installed on the balance wheel of a clockwork, and a coil spring manufactured using this method. A method for manufacturing the coil spring includes the following steps: a) providing a workpiece with a core of Nb-Ti; b) beta-hardening of the specified workpiece; c) deformation of the workpiece in several sequences; d) coiling to form a coil spring; e) a final heat treatment of coil spring, wherein the blank in step a) contains a layer of material X selected from Cu, Sn, Fe, Pt, Pd, Rh, Al, Au, Ni, Ag, Co, and Cr, or an alloy of one of these elements around the core; it includes heat treatment for partially converting said X layer into X, Ti intermetallic layer around the Nb-Ti core, said step is performed between step b) and step c) or between two sequences of deformation in step c); the method includes the step of removing said part of the layer from X, said step being performed between step b) and step c), between two sequences of deforming in step c) or between step c) and step d).
EFFECT: facilitating the shaping process due to deformation, while eliminating the disadvantages associated with the presence of copper.
