FIELD: laser engineering.
SUBSTANCE: annular volumetric optical resonator comprises an annular closed cavity limited by external and internal walls with an inlet for active medium and a discharge hole forming coaxial surfaces, system of mirrors installed along cavity surfaces and forming optical axis in form of closed broken line, outlet hole for radiation. Closed cavity is made between external and internal walls in the form of toroidal coaxial surfaces or external and internal walls in the form of coaxial polyhedrons. Mirrors of system are installed with odd number of reflecting facets of mirrors and are located relative to each other with formation of upper and lower one-sided light guides with final blind mirrors directed to outlet hole for radiation.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the largest resonator with maximum gain and minimum weight.
