SUBSTANCE: tray has a flattened light guide, at least one light source intended for introducing light into the light guide, and an optically transparent element configured to contact the light guide. Optically transparent element has a lower refraction index than the light guide, to enable complete internal reflection of the input light. Light is discharged from the light guide through an output structure and through a portion of the optically transparent portion located between the light guide and the buccal side of the teeth for irradiating the teeth with uniform light.
