FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of novel metathesis polymers. Metathesis poly(3-trialkoxysilyltricyclo[4.2.1.02.5]non-7-ene) having structure (I), where R=CH3, C2H5, n-C3H7 or n-C4H9, polymerisation degree n=2,500–4,000, weight-average molecular weight Mw from 9.3⋅105 up to 1.2⋅106 and polydispersity index Mw/Mn=2.2÷2.6. Disclosed also is a method of producing said metathesis poly(3-tri(n-alkoxy)silyltricyclo[4.2.1.02.5]non-7-ene) and a membrane separation method, in which membrane material used is the disclosed metathesis poly(3-tri(n-alkoxy)silyltricyclo[4.2.1.02.5]non-7-ene.

EFFECT: increased output of polymer (85–98 %, compared to prototype – 79 %), including catalyst capacity (ratio of monomer:catalyst 3,000–5,000:1, and in prototype 1,000:1), simplification of instrumentation while maintaining gas separation properties of membranes based on obtained polymers.
