FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: noise suppressor of internal combustion engine exhaust is designed to reduce sound of exhaust gases, in particular, engines of trucks and cars. Silencer housing with end walls is equipped with two partitions forming three expansion chambers in the housing. Axes of symmetry of input and output perforated bypass tubes are arranged in parallel and on opposite sides from axis of symmetry of housing. Length of the inlet bypass tube is limited by the length of the first expansion chamber. Length of outlet bypass pipe is limited by extension of third expansion chamber, device is equipped with additional bypass pipes with perforated holes. One of additional bypass tubes with perforated holes is built in the second and third expansion chambers with restriction of baffle and end wall of the housing coaxially to inlet bypass tube. Other of additional bypass tubes is built in the first and the second expansion chambers with limitation of the housing end wall and the partition wall coaxially with the output bypass tube. Perforation holes on additional bypass tubes and on inlet and outlet bypass tubes are located on mutually opposite side surfaces.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of sound damping due to three-stage dispersion of pressure pulses of the whole flow of exhaust gases in the expansion chambers of the silencer.
