SUBSTANCE: invention relates to motion image decoding. Disclosed is a method of decoding a moving image for decoding a decoding unit consisting of at least one prediction block, comprising steps of: decoding a candidate determination index from a bit stream, wherein an index for determining a candidate with motion information used in the prediction unit, which is a decoding object, is encoded as a candidate determination bit from the bitstream; extracting candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit, from prediction block of decoded frame, non-identical frame, having prediction unit, which is decoding object, performed in case, when information indicating extraction or non-extraction of candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit, is information indicating extraction of candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit; generating a plurality of candidates with traffic information, including a candidate with time movement information; and selecting one candidate with movement information from a plurality of candidates with motion information based on the candidate determination index and using the selected candidate with movement information as motion information of the prediction unit being the decoding object; wherein at said extraction step, extracting candidate with information on movement in time based on size and position of prediction unit, which is a decoding object, in case information indicating extraction or non-extraction of candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit, is not information indicating extraction of candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit, and information indicating extraction or non-extraction of candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit, indicates extraction of candidate with information on movement in time, shared for all prediction units in decoding unit, in case decoding unit size is specified size.

EFFECT: high efficiency of parallel prediction data processing.
