METHOD AND SYSTEM OF BRINGING A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT INTO A SAFE STATE AFTER EXTREME IMPACT Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G21C15/18 G21C15/24

Abstract RU 2697652 C1

FIELD: power engineering; means of ensuring safety.

SUBSTANCE: group of invention relates to safety of operation of nuclear power plants (NPP). System for conversion into safe state of NPP after extreme action includes supply and discharge pipelines, steam generator, accumulation tank and heat exchanger, additionally comprises a separation tank located above the steam generator and connected by two pipelines to a storage tank, a pump and a control unit. Heat exchanger is installed in the discharge pipeline, the first water valve is installed in the supply pipeline. Separation tank is connected to the accumulation tank by means of a pipeline with the second water valve installed in it and a pipeline with the first air valve installed in it. There is also a method of transitioning into a safe state of a nuclear power plant after extreme impact.

EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase safety of NPP operation under extreme actions due to provision of possibility to reduce temperature of heat carrier below boiling point with elimination of probability of hydraulic shocks in system due to separation of steam and water.
