FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to nuclear power engineering, namely to methods of long-term dry storage of spent nuclear fuel (SNF). Method for long-term dry storage of spent nuclear fuel includes placing spent nuclear fuel in an internal cavity of a container, filling inner cavity of container with inert gas, tight sealing of inner cover of container, closing inner cavity with spent nuclear fuel, sealing outer container cover, pumping into cavity between outer and inner covers of inert gas container under pressure higher than pressure in inner cavity of container with spent nuclear fuel, connection to inner side of container outer cover pressure sensors. There is also a container for long-term dry storage of spent nuclear fuel.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase safety of long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel due to constant monitoring of pressure of inert gas.
