SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a device supporting the tobacco industry rod-shaped products weight flow in the transport channel, comprising at least two segments (2, 3) connected by connecting element (4), characterized in that segments (2) are equipped with positioning means (7, 8) mating with conveyor elements to set the position of the supporting device relative to conveyor elements (5a, 5b). Also disclosed is a method of supporting mass flow of rod-shaped products of tobacco industry in a section of a transport channel, characterized in that supporting channel (1) is introduced into the transport channel in the inlet part of the filled section, provided with positioning means (7, 8), which together with conveyor elements define position of supporting device relative to elements of conveyor belt (5a, 5b), then starting mass flow of rod-like products is launched so that mass flow front part is supported on last segment of supporting device, thereafter, conveyor belt movement is started in the rest of the section of the filled transport channel so that the mass flow of rod-shaped articles fills the space of the said channel section with support on the last segment of the supporting device.
EFFECT: disclosed is a device for supporting mass flow of rod-shaped products of tobacco industry in a transport channel and a method of filling and emptying a transport channel.
