FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used for surgical treatment of flexion contractures of knee joints by temporary blocking of growth zones in children with spastic forms of infantile cerebral paralysis. On front surface of distal epiphysis of femur in peripatellar zone of knee joint two metal plates are fixed by means of screws installed 1–2 cm above and below growth zone, for which two peripatellar skin incisions are made along the lateral and medial sides of the patella in the projection of the growth zone with length of up to 3.5–5.0 cm along the femoral axis. Subcutaneous fat, capsule and synovial membrane of knee joint is dissected for imaging of epimetaphyseal region, under control of electro-optical converter verification of growth zone, it is marked with the help of an injection needle and channels are formed for screws, parallel to each other and lines of the growth zone in the front-rear direction, in the epiphysis and metaphysis above and below the growth zone, wherein the length of the screws should correspond to 1/3 of the bone diameter. Plates are placed on the anterior surface of femur medially and laterally from the patella. Wound is washed, sutured in layers, and a gypsum splint is applied in a maximum extension position for up to one week.
EFFECT: method provides improving the function of active shin extension, reducing traumatism by blocking the epiphyseal growth zone plates.
