SUBSTANCE: method includes the following stages: receiving from continuous casting machine a plurality of long intermediate articles moving on respective lines (cl1, cl2, …, cln) of continuous casting placed in outlet zone (100) of continuous casting machine, then long intermediate articles are introduced from outlet zone (100) into production plant, which contains at least rolling mill (200) for rolling long intermediate products, multiple interconnected production lines (p1, p2), located between output zone (100) of continuous casting machine and rolling mill (200), wherein production lines (p1, p2) specify multiple paths of articles or routes movement: route 1, route 2, route 3, and at least first and second heating devices (30, 40) with known characteristics. Method includes the following steps: associating a mathematical model with a given production plant for calculating in a dynamic mode a reference value (GHCI, GHCI1, GHCI2), or an indicator of total heating cost associated with multiple heating devices (30, 40), determining in automatic mode for each long intermediate article a path or route (route 1, route 2, route 3), which enables to minimize a reference value (GHCI, GHCI1, GHCI2), or total heating cost index; and at the end, each long intermediate article is automatically moved along a certain path of movement, which enables to minimize the reference value (GHCI, GHCI1, GHCI2) or the total heating cost.
EFFECT: invention relates to production of long metal articles, for example, rods, bars, wire or the like.
