FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a metal strip, a sheet obtained by cutting said strip, a method of producing a metal strip, as well as to a plate obtained by forging said sheet, and to a bipolar plate for a fuel cell comprising at least one said plate. Said metal strip comprises a substrate made from stainless steel and coated with at least one layer of chromium nitride-based textured coating. Method for making said strip comprises steps of: providing a substrate of stainless steel having on its surface a passive layer obtained from natural oxidation of stainless steel of the substrate, removal of passive layer in at least defined areas of substrate, deposition of chromium nitride in areas of substrate, in which passive layer has been removed, to obtain a coating layer based on chromium nitride directly on said substrate without intermediate arrangement of passive layer, wherein obtained coating layer is textured.
EFFECT: improved adhesion of the coating layer to the substrate.
