FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to occupational medicine and neurology, and can be used in predicting the development of stroke in men aged 30 to 65 years, working for 5 and more years in the profession associated with installation, repair, maintenance of electrical networks and electrical equipment. That is ensured by determining the following parameters: age, concentration of total blood serum cholesterol, presence or absence of smoking factors, alcohol abuse, arterial hypertension of degree 2-3 in anamnesis. Values of the above parameters are substituted into the original design formula, according to which the probability of stroke – p(X) is calculated. If p(X) exceeds 0.32, a high probability of stroke in the patient is stated.

EFFECT: method enables more accurate prediction of stroke in this category of patients by using an original design formula which takes into account a variety of unfavourable factors.
