FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to rehabilitation of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and can be used for rehabilitation of children with this pathology. That is ensured by a complex of therapeutic exercises with application of passive extension of shortened muscular tissues. With the help of a rehabilitation specialist, a complex of therapeutic exercises of five exercises is performed with a child: 1st exercise: initial position (i. p.) – the child lies on the abdomen, the methodologist sits nearby and fixes the child's pelvis with his/her foot, then bends the child's leg, holding the heel, moves the foot towards the sole with its sole lowered and fixes the foot at the level of the knee joint of other leg, after that, the methodologist takes the child under the knee and, without lifting it, produces an elastic extension of adductor hamstrings for 5 minutes on each leg. 2nd exercise: (i. p.) – the child is sitting on the mat, the methodologist sits behind it and moves the feet of the child with heels and the outer edge of the feet together, making a weak pressure on the foot inner edges for five minutes. 3rd exercise: (i. p.) – child lies on his side, hand is stretched perpendicular to body, palm down, methodologist sits nearby and builds child's pelvis, knee and its heel in one plane, striving to ensure that hip is under direct angle to child's body, shin is to be placed at right angle in relation to floor, then Methodist puts child on foot, lifts toes and gently stretches them for five minutes. 4th exercise: (i. p.) – the child is sitting on the floor on heels, the methodologist is sitting behind the child and fixes the heel of the child under ischial tuberosity, transferring the child's body weight to the heels, preventing him from skewing the pelvis, duration – five minutes. 5th exercise: (i. p.) – the child lies on the abdomen, the methodologist fixes the child's leg in the bent knee joint, wraps the heel with one hand, the other – the phalanges of the toes, and stretches the posterior shin surface for five minutes.
EFFECT: method provides reduced tonus in ankle joints and increased amplitude of foot movements in children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
