SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a steam generating device, e.g. an electronic cigarette. Disclosed is a mouthpiece for a steam generation device, in which the direction of the length coincides with the direction of inserting the steam generating device into the user's mouth, width direction corresponds to direction of user's lip line, and thickness direction corresponds to direction of user's lips opening; wherein said mouthpiece comprises a first and a second opposite surface and an outlet opening between the first and second opposing surfaces, wherein said opposite surfaces are approximately planar and lie in plane or slightly inclined relative to plane defined by longitudinal direction and direction of width, wherein the width of each of said opposite surfaces is greater than its length, and the first and second opposite surfaces of the mouthpiece form an outer wall of the liquid container in the steam generating device.
