SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol source for a steam supply system, an evaporator, a liquid transporting device, a cartomizer and a steam supply system. An aerosol source for a vapor supply system consists of a vapor generating element, a reservoir for storing the initial liquid bounded by a wall in which there is an opening, as well as a liquid transporting element containing the first section for receiving liquid flowing out of the container through an opening, the second section peripheral with respect to the first section, and the third section for delivery of liquid from the first section to the vapor generating element, and the liquid transporting element is flat, and its thickness is orthogonal to the plane of this liquid transporting element and the direction of fluid flow from the first section to the third section. When using, at least part of the second section is tightly pressed in the direction of the thickness of the liquid transporting element and orthogonal to its plane to the wall section surrounding the opening, creating a sealing effect on at least part of the periphery of the first section and contributing to the direction of the liquid towards the vapor generating element.

EFFECT: compression of the area of the wick around the hole in the direction of its thickness is provided when the wick is installed in the cavity across the hole and prevents the liquid from moving from the liquid receiving area in other directions, a sealing effect is provided that prevents the movement of liquid in all directions except towards the third section and to the vapor generating element, as a result, the leakage of liquid directed to the vapor generating element is minimized.
