FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport and can be used for recovery of mechanical strength and sealing of pipelines in gas industry without termination of their operation. Shutoff element is made in the form of round patch and seal and fixed on plug screwed on hollow rod of cross-beam clamping device. Patch and the seal are fixed with a clamping device on the through defect of the gas line. In the absence of gas leaks in this connection, the patch is welded to the gas line by welding. Patch is made with the surface curvature as in the pipeline. Bottom end face of guide crossarm tightly adjacent to the patch and uniformly compresses the seal along its perimeter to the pipeline, compression force is created by jack. Under the seal there installed is a sealant from elastic gas-impermeable polymer material B-850, intended for high-temperature operation (up to +375 °C). Diameter of the patch is larger than the size of the pipeline defect. After welding of the shutoff element with the pipeline, the clamping device is removed. Split coupling is welded to the installation point of the patch, then joints welded during its installation are controlled.

EFFECT: invention improves safety and reliability of the process of eliminating defects of the operated pipeline.
