METHOD FOR ELIMINATION OF GAS LEAKS AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC F16L55/168 

FIELD: pipeline transport.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used to eliminate accidents of gas pipelines without stopping transportation of gas. Method of gas leaks elimination includes three stages of works performance. At the first stage, preparatory works are performed, including preparation of trench, cleaning of surface of defective section from dirt, corrosion. At the second stage, the device for realizing the method is used to perform operations for localising gas leakage, as well as unloading the defect zone. At the third stage, complete elimination of gas leaks is performed with the help of the same device. Proposed device comprises tensioner and cylindrical case. In the upper part of the cylindrical housing there is a stop with a hole, a hollow bolt with a transverse hole is screwed into it. Lower part of the housing is connected to the base repeating the curvature of the outer surface of the repaired gas pipeline. In order to remove combustible gas from the place of repair works there is a connecting coupling and a plug in the form of a pipe, at the end of which there is a thread for connection to the coupling. Welding operations envisage use of refractory compactor.

EFFECT: invention discloses a method of eliminating gas leaks and a device for its implementation.
