FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: railway wheel rolling surface profile consists of successive smoothly conjugated circular arcs, extreme of which is conjugated with wheel ridge inclination line. Profile of rolling surface is made so that at any lateral displacement of wheel pair profile of rail touches profile of rail at not more than one point. Circumference wheel arched profile generators are selected so that when wheel is in contact with rail within rail working zone located relative to rail profile center from 25 mm inside track to 10 mm outside track, wheel profile arch at each point has radius Rr greater than or equal to rail profile radius Rr of 15 to 500 mm but smaller than critical radius at which maximum contact stresses in contact spot reach allowable values for wheel steel.
EFFECT: technical result is uniform wear of rail with minimization of wear of working surface of wheel and elimination of undercut of ridge.
