SUBSTANCE: invention relates to overhead luggage compartment for aircraft with upper and lower elements of luggage compartment, moving between open and closed position, with first locking device to lock lower element of luggage compartment in its closed position and with second locking device to lock lower element of luggage compartment in its open position. In the overhead luggage compartment there is a control element connected by means of the device transmitting force to the second blocking device for locking of the lower element of the luggage compartment in its open position. At that, the second blocking device is made with possibility of transfer by means of control element from the locking position into the open position and with possibility of being moved into the open position irrespective of the lower element of the luggage compartment movement.

EFFECT: increased safety during operation.
