METHOD OF TREATING EXCHORINATED ACNE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61N5/67 A61K31/203 A61P17/10

Abstract RU 2699061 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dermatovenereology and cosmetology, and can be used for treating the patients with excoriated acne. That is ensured by prescribing a complex therapy with simultaneous oral administration of isotretinoin in low doses according to an intermittent schedule: 8 mg a day regardless of body weight in one dose for 4 months, then 8 mg every 5 days a week, then 8 mg every 3 days a week, then 8 mg every 2 days a week, then 8 mg once a week, wherein stepwise dose adjustment is performed monthly. Damage centers are also exposed to spatially modulated radiation of erbium laser (Er/YAG) with wave length 2,936 nm, pulse energy 0.1–2 J, pulse repetition frequency 2–3 Hz, pulse duration 0.1–0.3 ms, density energy 2–3 J/cm2, processing of surface in scanning mode with overlapping of spots by 1/3 in one pass, time of laser exposure is 5–20 minutes, course – 3 procedures, carried out with interval of 2 months. Psychocorrective action is also performed depending on the psychopathological structure of the symptom complex underlying the autodestructive actions (compulsive, impulsive, overvalued).

EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness in EA by pronounced anti-acne, anti-inflammatory, dermato-protective effect, as well as local effect on posture with significant reduction of risk of self-injurious behaviour and formation of aesthetic skin defects, increased remission period, reduced frequency of recurrences and improved quality of life of patients.
