FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely endocrinology and radiation diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosing MRT-negative ACTH-producing adenoma hypophysis. Combined positron-emission and computed tomography (PET-CT) of the hypothalamus-cellar region with a radiopharmaceutical preparation (RPP) – 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose is performed. If observing a source of increased accumulation of the RPP in the hypophyseal fossa of the Turkish saddle, calculating a coefficient of differential accumulation (CDA) as a ratio of the maximum value of the standard accumulation index normalized to the non-fatty body weight, in the area of increased accumulation of RPP to the maximum value of standard accumulation standardized on non-fat body weight, in the reference area of interest, built in the cavity of the healthy wedge-shaped sinus of the nose. If CDA is 4.5 or more, ACTH-producing adenoma of hypophysis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: high accuracy of imaging in diagnosing ACTH-producing adenoma of the hypophysis in patients with negative or questionable MRT results.
