FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of metals and alloys by method of carbothermal recovery of minerals and ores in electric recovery reactors. Method comprises at least transportation of wood-containing material to a wood treatment reactor for drying, transportation of material containing wood into at least one pyrolysis reactor for production of charcoal, transportation of obtained charcoal and initial metal-containing materials to at least one electric reduction reactor for production of metal or alloy, transportation of waste gas from at least one pyrolysis reactor and exhaust gas from at least one electric reduction reactor to at least one energy recovery unit. At that, energy recovery unit includes at least combustion chamber and heat exchanger, steam turbine and electric generator. Electric power generated in power recycling unit is used to supply at least part of said power to electric recovery reactor.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of energy efficiency of the process.
