FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to restoration of artistic articles made from ferrous metal. Surface areas are recovered by filling defects with zinc powder and/or zinc alloy with subsequent application of anticorrosive coating from said metal, wherein forming gas powder mixture, heating working gas flow for supersonic acceleration of metal particles with their transfer to restored article, wherein working gas heating is performed in periodic mode, and duration of period of holding article surface in spraying spot at temperature T = 50–150°C is set close or less than the time for establishing temperature equilibrium in the sputtering spot between the working gas and the processed article material, wherein the particle size of the zinc powder and/or the zinc alloy is selected from group of 0.03–200 mcm, and the temperature and pressure in the supersonic nozzle pre-tube are selected within 100–250 °C and 1.0–4.0 MPa, respectively.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to impart high anticorrosion and mechanical properties to surface of restored object due to application of zinc and/or zinc alloy coating.
