FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy. To increase quality and provide hardness of 60 HRC performing hardening of working surface of tooth gear using laser emitter, wherein the gear is transverse with respect to the laser beam and during processing the laser beam is directed along the normal to the hardened surface, and the emitter is located at the same distance from it.
EFFECT: grinding after heat treatment is not required.
