FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining the strength properties of structural materials and can be used to determine the bending endurance limit. Essence: measure the radii of curvature of the surface of the test material in sections of two planes of the main curvature and the radius of the spherical indenter, which determine the reduced radius of curvature Rpr. Using a load in the range corresponding to the measurement of hardness, a spherical indenter is embedded in the test material, determine the ultimate uniform deformation εr at static stretching of the sample from the test material, while determining the Poisson's ratio of the test material. Semi-axes of the obtained residual imprint are measured and the intensity of the stresses in the center of the residual imprint is determined, from which the endurance limit of the test material is determined.
EFFECT: creation of a new method for determining the endurance limit of the material in bending without destroying the material of the parts, which makes it possible to improve the accuracy and quickly determine the endurance limit of the material during bending without fracture.
