FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing amphiphilic random copolymers. Method of producing amphiphilic random copolymers involves radical copolymerisation of two monomers, one of which is methacrylic acid, in an organic solvent in the presence of a radical type initiator at temperature of 65–75 °C for 2–21 hours, with adjustment of the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance, subsequent extraction and purification of the end product. Method is characterized by that control of hydrophilic-lipophilic balance is carried out without molecular weight regulators by selecting as second monomer butadiene-1,3 or pentadiene-1,3 and selecting a ratio of monomers, which is determined by content (mol. %) of methacrylic acid in the monomer mixture from 85.2 to 38.8 for amphiphilic water-soluble copolymers of butadiene-1,3 and 87.4 to 54.1 for amphiphilic water-soluble copolymers of pentadiene-1,3.

EFFECT: technical result is that the obtained copolymers are soluble in physiological conditions, which will ensure their use in the pharmaceutical industry, besides, achieving high output of polymers with an adjustable hydrophilic-lipophilic balance.
