FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and cosmetic industry, namely to a method for producing a biopolymer having average molecular weight less than its initial molecular weight, including: providing a composition containing a biopolymer with initial molecular weight, and water; lyophilisation of said composition, including sublimation at maximum temperature selected from range of 40 °C to 140 °C, wherein maximum temperature during lyophilisation is selected so as to facilitate controlled splitting of said biopolymer; wherein said composition has pH in range of 2.5 to 6, and wherein said biopolymer is selected from a group consisting of hyaluronic acid, collagen, glucosoaminoglycans, polysaccharides and fucoidans, and also relates to a method of producing a composition containing a biopolymer with average molecular weight, lower than its initial molecular weight, use of the method for preparing a dermatologically acceptable biopolymer and use of the method for preparing a dermatologically acceptable composition containing a biopolymer.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables reducing the initial high molecular weight of the biopolymer by controlling parameters of the lyophilization process, particularly temperature and pH.
