FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a high-molecular weight glycosaminoglycan hydrogel. Method of producing hydrogel involves cross-linking glycosaminoglycan (GAG), having a molecular weight of 2.1–3.5 MDa, a cross-linking agent to obtain a glycosaminoglycan hydrogel cross-linked by amide bonds, where the cross-linking agent is a di- or polynucleophilic functional cross-linking agent containing a spacer group selected from di-, tri-, tetra- and oligosaccharides; wherein concentration of GAG is from 2% to 10 (wt./wt.)%, molar ratio of cross-linking agent to GAG is less than or equal to 2 mol.% on disaccharide GAG. Also disclosed is a hydrogel product and a method for restoring, reconstructing or growing hard or soft tissue.
